What is it doing: It is used as a skin conditioning agent it is from the natural result of fermentation of Thermus thermophilus, a bacterium that can live thousands of feet below the ocean’s surface. It helps protect the skin from destructive enzymes and helps maintain a firm feel. It is a good source of alpha-galactosidase, an enzyme that helps replenish glycoproteins, making the skin look healthier. It is also used because it helps neutralize airborne pollutants and it helps prevent ultraviolet damage to the cells that make collagen and elastin proteins.
